The best Jamaican reggae and Polish folk music mix ever!
Reflecting the main festival theme “Back to the Roots”, the closing party of CinEast 2012 offers a very special
combination of Polish folk traditions and classical roots reggae. Come to hear this unprecedented and utterly
unique mix of musical cultures with your own ears! See the dances and jumps of Trebunie Tutki in folk costume
sharing the stage and songs with true rastas, the Twinkle Brothers. This is not just world music, but two worlds’
music! Their concert in Luxembourg will be set up from their CD album “Songs of Glory” – ranked on 11 th place
in the World Music Charts Europe EBU in 2008 and achieved Gold Disc Award in Poland in 2010.
The evening will also feature the projection of the films and will culminate with a DJ party, with typical drinks
and snacks available.
Twinkle Brothers (JAM/UK) are a legendary roots reggae band formed in 1962, with over 60 albums to their
credit. Since the early 1990s the Twinkle Brothers have been often collaborating with the Polish band Trebunie
Tutki, creating a unique blend of reggae and traditional folk music from the Tatra Mountains.
Trebunie Tutki (PL) is a family folk group faithful to the traditions of the “górale”, or highlanders living in the
Tatra Mountains in southern Poland. While staying true to their traditions and using original instruments,
Trebunie Tutki are not afraid of experimentation. During their two decades long cooperation with Twinkle
Brothers they have recorded several well-acclaimed albums together, including their latest, Songs of Glory, and
performed all around Europe and beyond.
